What is PostgreSQL database hosting at Helipod?

A fully managed PostgreSQL 17 database: we take care of the server, updates, backups and scaling. You just create a database and use its connection string in your app.

What does scale to zero mean?

When the database receives no queries for a few minutes, its compute stops so it uses no quota. The next query wakes it up again automatically, usually within seconds for that first query.

What is a CU-hour?

The unit of compute usage: 1 CU (compute unit) running for 1 hour. A sleeping database uses no CU-hours, so the monthly quota lasts longer for apps whose traffic is not constant.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan gives you 1 GiB of storage and about 100 CU-hours per month, enough for learning, prototypes and small projects.

Does it work with Prisma, Drizzle, Laravel or Django?

Yes. It is standard PostgreSQL: every Postgres ORM and driver can use it through a connection string with SSL.
