What is a Dify VPS?

Dify is an open-source platform for building AI apps. You can create chatbots, agents, workflows and RAG knowledge bases on top of many LLMs through a visual interface.

On a Helipod Dify VPS, Dify is installed with Docker on Ubuntu 22.04. No need to install Docker, clone the repository or set up docker compose from scratch. After the server boots, Dify takes a few minutes to start, then it is ready in your browser.

Because it is self-hosted, your data stays on your server. Knowledge base documents, conversation history and app settings live on your own VPS, not in someone else's workspace.

How it works

From order to a working Dify

No manual install. This is what happens after you order.

    Choose a plan and region

    Pick 2 to 8 GB RAM, a region (Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo or Seoul) and a period of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.

  2. 2

    Server created with Dify

    The VPS boots with Dify 1.10.1 in Docker. Give it a few minutes for all Dify containers to finish starting.

  3. 3

    Create the admin account

    Open http://server-IP/install and create the admin account. Do it as soon as the server is ready, because this page is open to anyone who knows your IP.

  4. 4

    Connect an AI model

    Go to Settings, then Model Provider, and enter your provider API key. You can then create your first app.

Dify VPS questions

What people ask most before and after ordering.
How do I log in to Dify after ordering?
Wait a few minutes after the server boots, then open http://server-IP/install to create the admin account. After that, log in at http://server-IP. The link and steps are also in the Application tab of the dashboard.
Which ports does Dify use?
Dify runs on port 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS). You can check and open them from the Application tab or the firewall menu in the dashboard.
Are AI model API keys included?
No. You use your own API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or another provider, entered under Settings, Model Provider. If you want one key for many models billed in Rupiah, you can also use the Helipod AI API gateway.
How much RAM does Dify need?
At least 2 GB. For daily use with several apps and knowledge bases, 4 GB is more comfortable. You can start small and upgrade to a larger app plan later.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Point the domain to the VPS IP, edit Dify's .env file for your domain (the Application tab shows where it is and the command to run), then run sudo docker compose up -d in the same folder. The Application tab has a domain and HTTPS guide. You set up the HTTPS certificate yourself, it is not automatic.
Which regions are available?
The Dify VPS is available in Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo and Seoul. Pick the one closest to your users.
Are there backups?
You can take server snapshots. Nightly off-site backups are a paid add-on from Rp 19.900/month. Backups are not on by default, so turn them on if your Dify data matters.
How do payment and renewal work?
Prices are in Rupiah. Pay monthly, or for 3, 6 or 12 months at once with a discount. If you get stuck, our support team is available by ticket and WhatsApp.
