LAMP VPS
About
LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB and PHP, the server combination behind most PHP websites. On a Helipod LAMP VPS, all four are installed on Ubuntu 24.04.
It suits your own PHP site, an app built on a framework like Laravel or CodeIgniter, or a CMS of your choice. Upload files to /home/www/htdocs/dummy-host.example.com over SFTP or the terminal, and the site is reachable at the VPS IP.
A clean server without the setup work. You get a Linux server with root access like any VPS, except the web server, database and PHP are already installed and configured.
Getting Started
Pick the RAM and SSD your app needs, then the server region closest to your visitors. Pay monthly or for 3, 6 or 12 months up front.
When the VPS is running, open the Terminal tab in the dashboard and run the login command shown in the Application tab to see the MariaDB password.
Send your files to /home/www/htdocs/dummy-host.example.com over SFTP or the terminal. Open http://VPS-IP to see the result.
Point your domain's A record to the VPS IP, set ServerName in the Apache config, then add a free Let's Encrypt certificate with Certbot for Apache. Ports 80 and 443 can be opened from the Application tab.
