What is email hosting?

Email hosting is a service that stores and manages email for your own domain, for example name@yourcompany.co.id. Unlike free email such as @gmail.com, the address carries your business name, so it looks more professional and stays fully under your control.

How much does email on your own domain cost at Helipod?

Paid plans start at Rp 24.990 per month when billed yearly, or Rp 29.400 when billed monthly with no contract. That includes 1 mailbox, 3 aliases, 3 GB of storage, and a sending quota, and the renewal price matches the starting price. Extra mailboxes are Rp 12.900 per month and extra storage is Rp 2.900 per GB per month.

What is the difference between a mailbox and an alias?

A mailbox is an inbox you open with a password, for example leo@yourdomain.id. An alias is an extra address that delivers to the same mailbox, for example support@ or hello@. You can also reply from an alias address. Each mailbox can have up to 3 aliases.

How do I read my email? Does it work on my phone?

You read email in the webmail at inbox.helipod.io from any browser, including on your phone. Helipod does not offer IMAP or POP3 yet, so email cannot be synced to apps such as Outlook or the built-in Mail app.

Do I need to buy a domain first?

Yes, you need your own domain. If you don't have one yet, you can buy a domain at Helipod and turn on email for it right away. Domains from other providers work too: just add the DNS records shown in the dashboard.

What happens when my storage is full?

New email is not accepted until there is free space. You get a notification when storage reaches 80% and when it is full. Clear out old email or add storage from Rp 2.900 per GB per month. The Spam and Trash folders are emptied automatically after 30 days.

Is my email protected from spam and phishing?

Every incoming email is checked for spam, viruses, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. In the webmail, external images are blocked until you allow them, links that lead somewhere other than their text shows get a warning, and risky attachments are flagged before you download them.
